0 Part-time 9 hours ago Full Job Description The University of Virginia School of Education and Human Development is seeking an hourly Observation Scoring Support team member to join the Tools for Equitable Reading Instruction Research Team.
The Tools for Equitable Reading Instruction Research Team has developed standardized observation tools that analyze how teachers help students cultivate essential literary skills and dispositions for grades Pre-K-3, assessing foundational reading instruction.
We have recently launched several partnerships to determine if the tools can be used for reliable use at scale by using the tools to score from a collection of videotaped classroom observations, and are looking to expand our observation scoring support team! Tools for Equitable Reading Instruction Research Team supporters are responsible for multiple aspects of the research project, including:
Observing thirty-minute recordings of instruction from Pre-K-3 foundational literacy classrooms, capturing, categorizing, and evaluating instruction on a seven-point scale across four dimensions.
Working independently to score observations for analysis.
Throughout this process, the team member will also participate in norming sessions to ensure scoring fidelity.

Qualifications:
Ability to work 10-15 hours per week in a remote environment.
Experience using observational frameworks.
Flexibility to work both independently and cooperatively within a team.
Consistent ability to meet deadlines for submitting observation scores.
Commitment to following privacy protection protocols required by study parameters.
Proficiency with Zoom.
Upon initial hiring, members of the scoring support team will be trained in how to score classroom observations using the TERI rubric.
Team members must demonstrate that they can reliably score instruction during the certification window or employment will be discontinued.
Position Compensation:
$22.
00 hourly This is a remote position.
Deadline to apply is March 3, 2023.
This is a wage position that is not eligible for leave or other benefits and is limited to 1500 hours of work in a year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education:
Bachelor's degree.
Experience:
At least four years of teaching experience or equivalent educational field work (instructional coaching, administration, etc.
).
Licensure:
None.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers.
