PSYC - Research Coordinator - Hurd Lab

Under general direction of faculty and/or senior research personnel, Research Coordinator employees support the development, design, and implementation of research projects according to plans. They operate with understanding of research goals and objectives but follow established protocols and guidelines. Employees seek instruction in areas of complexity.
The Hurd lab in the Department of Psychology is seeking a project coordinator to assist with the management of a longitudinal study tracking the social, occupational and mental and physical health outcomes of a cohort of young adults who formerly attended UVA.
Responsibilities include:
Supervision and training of undergraduate research assistants and part-time staff
Tracking and corresponding with participants
Data cleaning and management; data analyses
Managing and coordinating the collection of online surveys and physical health data
Assisting with manuscript preparation and other dissemination efforts
Assisting with research proposals
Preference will be given to candidates willing to make a 2-year commitment.
This full-time position will remain open until filled.
This is a restricted position contingent on continued funding.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Associate's degree in related field
Experience: Equivalent experience/course work will be considered in lieu of degree. Licensure: None PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
