Senior Director of Business Development, Executive Education, Darden

The University of Virginia Darden School of Business, one of the world's leading business schools, seeks a highly motivated professional to join its Execution Education team. The Senior Director Business Development, Executive Education, will be responsible for cultivating new client relationships, consulting with clients on their talent and leadership development challenges, growing new business opportunities, and maintaining key customer accounts in accordance with organizational strategy.
Darden's Executive Education program is consistently rated among the top providers globally, with particular strengths in course design, teaching/faculty, service/facilities and leadership curriculum. We are focused on growth and have a goal to double the size of our business.
This exciting opportunity requires extensive external engagement, as well as research and identification of business opportunities for custom programs, the development of sales leads, ability to negotiate and close business deals, and collaborative teamwork with Faculty and Program Managers on program design and delivery. Frequent travel is required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Business Development. In collaboration with the Senior Associate Dean, Executive Director, and other Executive Education directors, plans and develops the Darden School's Executive Education business development activities on both a long term, strategic, and shorter term, tactical basis. Acts primarily as a business development resource responsible for building awareness, establishing a network of prospective clients, assessing and developing new opportunities, engaging and expanding our base of client relationships.
External Engagement. Establishes an institutional and personal profile as a leader in executive education. Maintains contacts with business organizations that wish to utilize the School's programs. Remains updated on management/business research, executive education and competition. Networks with appropriate contacts.
Collaborative Internal Engagement. Collaborates with Faculty and Program Managers to coordinate custom account start-up activity to ensure client needs are fully met by program design and delivery. Collaborates with Darden communication and marketing organization to develop, coordinate, and implement marketing plans designed to maintain and increase custom relationships. Coordinates with other parts of the Darden School to help build broader corporate relationships. Develops and nurtures internal relationships with Darden School faculty and administrative leaders in the school.
Research. Conducts research and competitor and market analysis across industries and regions to identify attractive business development opportunities; maintains extensive analysis of current market conditions. Prepares detailed research reports and communicates the findings of those reports as needed within Darden EE and across the Darden enterprise.
Successful candidates will have a proven track record that includes:

years in consultative sales and marketing in selling high end professional services, preferably human capital consulting.
Ability to build long-term relationships, negotiate sales at the CEO/CHRO/CLO level and engage at a strategic level.
Master's Degree, ideally in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or other relevant field.
A track record of success in partnering and developing profitable long term client relationships.
'Hands-on' experience in executive education with knowledge of key sectors: finance, aerospace/defense, energy, pharmaceuticals, and professional services.
Excellent communication skills with all levels of management, faculty and business community: written, oral; individual, small groups and formal presentations.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
