The Darden School Foundation at the University of Virginia seeks an experienced professional to join its Advancement team. The Development Officer is responsible for cultivating meaningful relationships with a portfolio of prospective donors who have the potential to make major gifts of $100,000 and higher. The individual works with development team members and others for overall success of the Darden School fundraising efforts including the Darden Annual Fund.
The Development Officer at Darden is part of a professional fundraising team that generates philanthropic support for the School. Through these philanthropic efforts, Darden is able to attract the brightest students, support our top-ranked faculty and strngthen Darden's Centers of Excellence, including a state of the art Innovation Lab that inspires entrepreneurship.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated their ability to build productive donor relationships, set priorities, manage multiple tasks, write precisely, show sound judgment, and work collaboratively with an ambitious University-wide team of development professionals. Experience in not-for-profit, university, college, or independent school advancement is preferred. Position requires travel to visit major gift target donors.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
