Job Description:
Provides deep subject matter expertise in the application of advanced overhead and close-range photogrammetric and perspective principles to determine dimensional and spatial characteristics of weapon systems, support equipment, and associated facilities; constructs and/or utilizes high fidelity CAD models, 3-D models, two-dimensional drawings, and specialized CAD-associated applications to support third phase analysis of ground force equipment in research and development. Applies photogrammetric methods/techniques to available imagery sources using appropriate software tools to characterize the dimensional, geometric, and observable characteristics of assigned weapons systems. Collaborates with mission partners to provide multi-source intelligence reporting. Initiates, participates in, and supports outreach and collaborative activities with Agency, Department of Defense and Intelligence Community partners to help further scientific and technical understanding of emergent ground forces equipment and weapons systems. Briefs at various fora to include community level conferences, account related organizations analysis working groups, etc. Provides input into development of Program of Analysis (POA), Research and Production Plans. Photogrammetric Imagery Scientist:
Apply advanced statistical and quantitative methodologies to photogrammetric imagery and data to refine and improve GEOINT analysis and conclusions. Educate analysts and other community stakeholders about availability and capabilities of photogrammetric imagery products, methodologies, procedures, and algorithms to enhance analysis. Enhance business and mission partner analytic capabilities through use of photogrammetric data and imagery. Exploit photogrammetric imagery to identify operating trends and correlate activity among targets. Additional Application Requirement:

For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). 1. Demonstrated experience in close-range photogrammetry/mensuration of handheld and video imagery as well as construct high fidelity CAD models, 2D technical drawings, 3-D visualizations, and specialized CAD-associated applications to support third phase analysis of integrated, predictive intelligence in support of mission requirements. 2. Demonstrated ability to apply and understand various sources of imagery and/or geospatial information. 3. Ability to work effectively in a team and independently. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
A. Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Imagery Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related discipline that included 24 semester hours in Physical Science and/or related Engineering Science such as Dynamics, Electronics, Mechanics, and Properties of Materials. -OR- B. Combination of Education and
Experience:
A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A that included at least 24 semester hours in Physical Science and/or related Engineering Science, plus experience that involves extraction of monoscopic, stereoscopic, and multiscopic mensuration of objects and geographic features utilizing all imaging systems, including Computer Aided Design (CAD) applications, or a related field that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:
Distinguish principal colors and shades/hues of principal colors; Near visual acuity of 20/20 or better with or without corrective lenses; Stereopsis ability; Far visual acuity of 20/60 or better binocular with or without corrective lenses DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:
In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired:
1. Possess experience with all or some of the following software:
RemoteView, SocetGXP, Micro Station, Compass, MSP, Rhino, SketchUp Pro, Photo Modeler, or similar CAD modeling software. 2. Experience with national, civil, and/or commercial imaging systems, image processing, image exploitation, digital signal processing, and prototyping. 3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required as scientists must be able to convey their findings via written and oral means, and receive acknowledgement that it is received and understood.
